  7. Unpack on top of the TDS !TeX directory.

  9. DO NOT unpack on top of an old !TeX directory which does not use
  10. the TDS. The directory structure has changed!.

  12. The old LaTeX 2.09 is not included. LaTeX2e has a compatibility
  13. mode which can handle most old LaTeX 2.09 documents.

  15. If you are upgrading LaTeX DO NOT unpack this archive on top of the old
  16. installation. You should first remove (or backup) the directories
  17.  
  18.     !TeX.texmf.tex.latex.base_? (base_1 and base_2)
  19.     !TeX.texmf.tex.latex.tools
